Why I hate August...
August is the most mature month. It is the most grown up and the least playful. August is the only month with no real holidays. No official 3-day weekends. No reasons to celebrate.
August is when people wake up from the carefree stupidity of July. When people start coming home from their adventures. When people realize that summer is almost over, and they take vacations, not because they want to, but because they feel obligated to have one last hurrah before it's back to school and cold weather.
August is a time when people go into panic mode. It is a month in which we all strive to have so much fun before it's over that we end up driving ourselves crazy.
August is full of back to school commercials and unwanted sports training, intruding on our endless summer illusion.
August is when adventures become memories. And memories become stories.
August is when summer turns back into a photo album.
August is awakening.
...haven't posted in a while, so I thought I'd come back in with something more thoughtful than "what I did today.."
